of faith. The scriptures that tell the story of salvation, and the prayers proper to each week and festival, provide
an annual framework for all our liturgical celebrations.’
This book journeys through the Christian Year with Francis and Clare and their early followers, using the words of their contemporaries and their immediate successors. The book uses temporale (From Advent to Christ the King) and sanctorale (from January to December) as a shape, rather than ‘chapters’.
This is a book for devotional reading, taking extracts from original source documents, and is for use particularly in the context of prayer and lectio divina.
